What Is a Facelift?
Facelift surgery is a procedure performed to reduce wrinkles and sagging caused by aging. The goal is to achieve a younger and more dynamic appearance while preserving the natural expression of the face. It is generally preferred for patients over 45 years old and is often combined with neck lift surgery. We do not perform facelift operations; however, we provide guidance to help patients connect with proper planning and experienced surgeons.
How Is Facelift Surgery Performed?
The operation is performed under general anesthesia. Depending on age and degree of sagging, it can be planned together with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or temporal lift. The incision is placed from the front of the ear and hidden behind the ear in the hairline. The deep support layer of the face, the SMAS, is also tightened to achieve not only skin tightening but more permanent and natural results.
Mini, Medium, and Full Facelift
Mini facelift: Suitable for mild to moderate sagging.
Medium facelift: Preferred for younger patients with mild sagging.
Full facelift: Applied in cases with advanced sagging.
Surgery and Recovery
Hospital stay of 1–2 nights is recommended. After discharge, a bandage and compression garment are applied to the face. Swelling during the first 3 days is normal. Follow-up examination is performed on the 5th day. Showering is allowed from the 10th day. Dissolving stitches eliminate the need for suture removal. Final results become apparent within 3–6 months, and a successful operation provides an average of 10–15 years younger appearance.
